The Cambridge Dictionary defines a trough as: 1. a narrow, open box to hold water or food for animals 2. a low point between two high points, as on a graph or record of activity; As we continue our study of The Screwtape Letters we'll be diving into Chapters 8 and 9 to understand Screwtape's use of the term "trough period" to describe a period of dryness in a believer's faith.
