Trust me, blowing a shofar is not as easy as it looks. It took skill and a lot of breath to make this beautiful sound. Watch how a shofar is made! The last 30 seconds they use the word mystical a bit much. In your head replace the word Biblical. It's more appropriate. ![]() The Musical Minute: Challenge for older children: Can you research how many different animals have been used to make shofars? Do you know what animal was used to make the shofar in the picture on the left? Which type of shofar do you like best and why? For younger children: Here is a coloring page that you can print out and color. I also found a shofar-shaped maze. Can you find your way through it? Feelin' crafty? Roll up a toilet paper roll or turn construction paper into a cone shape to make a paper shofar. Strengthen it by layering with the cardboard from an old cereal box inside. Blow your shofar.
