In August I joined ACFW. I was feeling stalled. I needed greater support and resources to help me move forward with my writing.
Last month (December) I finally slowed down enough to explore all of the great resources offered to members. I joined a Novel tracking loop which encourages writers to write more by setting monthly goals and cheering each other on until it's met. Think NaNoWriMo every month. For December I set the goal of 10,000 words and I met and exceeded the goal with a grand total of 17,359 words. This month I set my goal at 15,000 words. I'm hoping to still meet my challenge, despite setbacks with the flu. I have been busy lately working on my newest work in progress, The Lemonade Stand. I have big plans for this book. If you read When Chicks Hatch then you know it's not a thick book. I had first time jitters and held back a little. I'm learning. This second book is fuller and my dialogue is even stronger. I want this to be a book readers can spend some time with so they become even more invested in the characters. Sometimes I seriously wonder about my sanity when I write. These characters are so alive. They have personalities and ideas and sometimes I think they are driving the story more than I am. I hope you will get to meet them soon. I'm listening closely to them each day as they twist and turn on the page. They can't wait to meet you.
