What did I learn from reading this genre?
Well, I learned that any genre can become agreeable to a hesitant reader IF . . .
- The characters are likable. Likable characters keep readers reading.
- The writer allows for characters that are imperfect. Portraying a flawed character helps the other characters shine and emphasizes their morality.
- Research pays off. When an author gets the details accurate the writing can teach and even change a person's mind set.
